Keystone Kops: “Kase of the KSM Kludge”

In the war on terror, the Obama administration is quickly proving that they “kan’t” shoot straight like in those old silent movie Keystone Kops comedies. Promises are made, but not kept. Facts are stated without any backup evidence. Decisions are made, and nobody knows who made them. But when top administration officials declared in senate hearings recently that a major terrorist attack is certain within six months where America had none for eight years, Americans have awaken to another change they never bargained for.

There doesn’t seem to be a great decider like Bush. Attorney General (AG) Eric Holder seems to be the one who’s making controversial decisions. At least he’s blamed or credited for granting after only 50 minutes of questioning Miranda rights to the BVD Christmas Day bomber who was at the time heavily medicated from burns to his nether region.

CIA experts state that it takes months to build a rapport with detainees in order to get useful information. Yet, Obama and his minions determined all knowledge possible was extracted from Mr. BVD in just this incredibly incredulous short period of time.

At least, that was their first story. Testifying in the senate, the nation’s top intelligence officer, Dennis Blair, a senior deputy, and Department of Insecurity “Janbo Incompetano” all admitted that they weren’t consulted on the BVD Bomber’s grant of Miranda. Testifying separately even the FBI Director claimed he wasn’t consulted, but he defended the decision by whoever made it.

In fact, the director revealed that the BVD Bomber should have been referred to the “High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group” created last year just for this specific purpose. But, while promising not to make that mistake again, he confidently predicted that the Obama gang will just make a new one.

The administration can’t even get right the time when charges were filed against “Underwear Man.” White House spokesman “Oh-So Glib” Gibbs told Chris Wallace it was several days where it was really only one. Inconsequential, but shouldn’t he have known this detail for the interview?

The Obama administration’s handling of this whole affair has been simply abominable. To get the “Butt Bomber” talking again, they recruited his father, who originally informed the CIA his son was an extremist. Great, except now the terrorists know this tidbit, and he’ll be a target back in Nigeria. A common result after cooperating with Obama is you can never go home again. Many Democrats are now discovering this fundamental fact.

While the BVD Bomber “Kase” has been badly bumbled, KSM’s trial is already worse. To even justify the trial AG Holder has been claiming that the Bush administration prosecuted 300 high profile terrorists. Nobody, including former Bush officials, knows where he got his figure. And, he’s not telling.

Still, KSM’s trial was supposed to showcase to the world and the terrorists America’s wonderful justice system. Actually, if the truth be told Bush, Cheney and the CIA are really the ones on trial. But, let’s accept the Obama gang’s premise, and even that terrorists would care.

Incredibly, KSM’s trial has been discredited even before it begins. In January, Obama said, “I don’t think it will be offensive at all when he’s convicted, and when the death penalty is applied to him.” This kind of ruins that “Presumption of Innocence” thing when the US president can so confidently predict the outcome.

Eventually, realizing his mistake, and that took awhile, Obama corrected himself, “What I said was is that people won’t be offended if that’s the outcome. I’m not prejudging. I’m not going to be in that courtroom. That’s the job of the prosecutors, the judge and the jury.” Yeah, that’s exactly what he said before. It’s everyone else that misunderstood.

Testifying before the senate, AG Holder said there was sufficient untainted evidence to convict KSM. This is a detainee now suspect, death row “potential” candidate, who according to liberals has been tortured, held without habeas corpus and will have a tainted jury pool. He will be convicted in a justice system where most American wouldn’t be. Perhaps, Americans will grow to appreciate this comedy that will cost just $200 million, per year.

Obama seems to be searching for a “reasonable middle” between the right, military tribunals, and the left, letting KSM go. But like two pilots flying across the Atlantic, one wanting to land in London, the other New York, yet decide to compromise and land in the ocean instead. Doesn’t work for them, and it’s not working for Obama.

Finally, this administration probably isn’t even dimly aware of the next terrorist threat, “Bosom Bombers.” Terrorists are recruiting women who insert explosives using breast enhancement surgery. America needs a way to feel out for these female bombers. Where’s Bill Clinton when America needs him?
